Huub is a member of an artist group in Leusden where they meet twice a month. Next to that they have workshops to improve painting techniques. In summertime they meet on several picturesque locations while in wintertime they have indoor sessions. Huub paints gouaches preferably, but he likes to work with water colour and oil-painting as well. His personal style is exotic colouring. That means that he will use lots of colours (no mixing on the palette), that will make the compositions powerful and very bright.
This painting shows the Vallei canal of Leusden, Netherlands. The red floats are a protection for the canoeists against the sluice (a small waterfall).
I painted this in July 2004.
