This is my first Galapagos oil painting. It is a combination of the leguanas (two kinds), the big Cactus tree of 200 years old, the famous Fregata Roja and the islands.

In January 2005 our IT colleague Huub Kort had an exposition of his latest gouaches in Amersfoort. Some colleagues were interested and took the time to visit the collection. Below you find an impression of the paintings of this presentation. After high school Huub started at a drawing teacher’s education in Amsterdam. Although he didn’t finish it, his love for painting was clear. Afterwards he started as an IT trainee at ABN AMRO and is now ICT Business Analyst within the RI/IS&D department.But his career as a painter was not fully set apart; some 15 years ago he took again the palette and brushes and restarted.

Huub has his own method of preparing the gouaches.
He preferably will take a white sheet of paper, will make some carbon lines on the paper and start painting rather quickly. The painting will be finished within 3 hours, no extra days for making changes. Huub’s vision: to get one’s original feelings perfect on paper you shouldn’t touch the painting again and again!
Most of his work is made not far from his home in Amersfoort.

So far Huub has sold some paintings that are now part of private collections in New York, Buenos Airos, Fort Meijers and Hamburg. Next to some in the Netherlands.
